The Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford metro area added 3,952 tech jobs between 2017 and 2018 , a 4.5% increase in net tech employment, according to a new report, Cyberstates 2019, the definitive guide to the US tech industry and tech workforce from the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). This percentage increase was almost double the national average of 2.3% and the 4thhighest among all US metro areas (behind only San Francisco, Charlotte, and Raleigh). The total increase in tech jobs was the 17thhighest among all US metro areas.
The Orlando region’s 92,022 tech jobs in 2018 ranked it 26thin net tech employment. Tech jobs were 7.1% of the total workforce (20th nationally) and contributed $12.4B or 10.4% to Orlando’s economy (26thnationally).
