SpaceX confirms astronaut capsule was ‘destroyed’ during tests. Here’s what they know so far

After much speculation and a leaked video surfaced, SpaceX finally confirmed Thursday the explosion and destruction of its astronaut capsule during testing, divulging the first in-depth details about what went wrong on April 20.

Speaking at a news conference for an upcoming SpaceX resupply mission to the International Space Station, Hans Koenigsmann, vice president of build and flight reliability, gave the company’s updated statement as to the status of the spacecraft SpaceX was developing to get astronauts to space by the end of the year.
