SpaceX to make grand entrance in satellite biz

SpaceX is ready to launch one of its most important — and hardest — missions to date.

The Hawthorne, California-based rocket company founded by billionaire Elon Musk on May 23 is scheduled to shoot its Falcon 9 rocket into space from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Launch Complex 40 carrying 60 of the firm’s satellites. The launch from Florida’s Space Coast is significant, as it marks the start of SpaceX’s ambitious Starlink program that involves sending nearly 12,000 satellites into orbit to close the global internet connectivity gap and provide faster, cheaper internet service.
