NASA awards $7.5M to UCF’s planetary research hub

The University of Central Florida received a $7.5 million grant for its Center for Lunar and Asteroid Surface Science.

The university’s presence in extraterrestrial research has boomed globally, after it first became home to NASA’S $6 million Center for Lunar and Asteroid Surface Science five years ago — transforming the school’s presence in the field of space research. “We are a growing force in planetary science,” said Professor Daniel Britt, the center’s director. “UCF has gotten more of a profile in the field of planetary research.” Read more here.
