Lockheed Martin to launch new Air Force GPS satellite this month

Defense giant Lockheed Martin’s second-generation GPS III satellite, or GPS III Space Vehicle 02, is expected to launch from Florida’s Space Coast on July 25.

The GPS III Space Vehicle 02, built for the U.S. Air Force, was encapsulated June 25 following a collaboration with United Launch Alliance, a joint venture between Bethesda, Maryland-based Lockheed (NYSE: LMT) and Chicago-based Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA). Read more here.
