SpaceX wants to launch up to 30K more Starlink satellites

SpaceX, which plans to launch 12,000 satellites from Cape Canaveral as part of its Starlink program, now wants to increase that number substantially. 

The Hawthorne, California-based rocket company founded by billionaire Elon Musk wants to reserve space for nearly 30,000 satellites in orbit, according to documents shared between the Federal Communications Commission and the International Telecommunication Union, a communication agency of the United Nations. If approved, this would mean a massive expansion of the firm’s Starlink program and potentially more launches from Florida’s Space Coast. Read more here
