Tech firm plans local layoffs if defense deal isn’t extended

Los Angeles-based engineering firm Aecom (NYSE: ACM) will lay off 15 workers in Lake County if a U.S. Navy contract isn’t prolonged. 

The company notified the state of the potential layoffs in a Jan. 17 letter. Aecom plans 492 layoffs across the U.S. if a previously-awarded contract does not see an extension before March 14, according to the notice. Aecom could not be reached for comment. Read more here.
