Local Boeing operations get NASA funding boost

Boeing has won more money to fund its work meant to launch humans from Cape Canaveral soon.

Chicago-based The Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) on Feb. 3 won $6 million in add-ons to its NASA contract to take astronauts to the International Space Station. The extra funding is meant to prepare Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft — built at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral — to fly humans this year.
