Most R&D projects don’t go 240 miles above Earth’s surface for testing. But that’s the case for Micro-gRx Inc. President Siobhan Malany

Orlando-based biomedical research firm Micro-gRx is sending human cells to the International Space Station to study their growth in microgravity. Micro-gRx is a spinoff of Sanford Burnham, a San Diego-based medical research institute that used to operate in Lake Nona. The firm’s first project launched to the ISS in 2018. A second mission, testing more cells, will launch in August, Malany said. Read more here.
