Space Coast officials target new government projects after losing Space Command

Florida has more opportunities to land military space bases beyond its failed bid for the U.S. Space Command.

In fact, state and Space Coast officials see many future chances for Central Florida to snare other aerospace-focused government installations, especially among the fledgling U.S. Space Force, despite Alabama’s Redstone Arsenal beating out Florida’s Patrick Space Force Base and four other U.S. sites for the future headquarters of the Department of Defense’s space command center.
