OneWeb stirs up satellite race with SpaceX with first launch

OneWeb kicked off its satellite constellation on Feb. 27 when the Russian-built Soyus rocket took six of OneWeb’s satellites to space. 

The launch took place from Guiana Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana. However, the start of OneWeb’s constellation that will include 900 satellites to connect 4 billion people around the world with Internet access also may bring activity to the company’s $85 million, 100,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Space Florida’s Exploration Park on Merritt Island near Cape Canaveral. Read more here.
