Blue Origin seeks more time to develop New Glenn rocket for military

After getting part of a $2.2 billion defense contract last year to help build its newest rocket, Blue Origin LLC wants the U.S. Air Force to delay choosing two firms for launch services in the mid-2020s.

Last year, the Air Force selected three launch providers — Blue Origin, Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) and United Launch Alliance LLC — to build the next generation of heavy lift rockets and supported those firms efforts by investing in them under the National Security Space Launch Program.
