Year in review: Space program took a leap forward thanks to C. Fla.

As 2019 draws to a close, the U.S. is on the cusp of sending humans into space for the first time since 2011. And Central Florida was at the heart of that progress. 

The Commercial Crew Program is a collaboration between NASA and private companies to build spacecraft and launch systems to take astronauts to low-Earth orbit and the space station. Since NASA’s Space Shuttle Program ended in 2011, American astronauts traveling to the space station have to ride on Russian spacecraft. Read more here.
