Defense firms to miss out on contracts if they don’t meet new cyber requirement

The owner of a local defense firm recently called Winter Park-based RB Advisory LLC in a panic. 

The owner received a letter from the prime contractor it works with on a defense deal, Kate Crockett, chief growth and operations officer of cybersecurity firm RB Advisory, told Orlando Business Journal. In the letter, the prime contractor said if the company wasn’t working to become compliant with new federal cybersecurity regulations, it was in jeopardy of losing out on future work on a contract worth $750,000 for the business.
