Luminar Technologies Inc. will steer itself into the autonomous truck market after it landed an investment from a firm that’s part of the Mercedes-Benz parent company.
Daimler Trucks, part of German automaker Daimler AG, bought a minority stake in autonomous vehicle sensor maker Luminar, the companies announced Oct. 30. The value of the investment was not disclosed. Daimler Trucks and its subsidiaries will work with Luminar, which employs 250 people in Orlando, to put self-driving trucks on the road. Read more here.
